When I met my second husband Bernhard in 2002 we realized that we have a lot in common. This also included the plan that once we will no longer pursue regular work, we would like to hibernate in a warm place.
However, we had no idea where to find this place. That’s why we made all kinds of trips during the vacations to find the ideal place.
Bernhard was eager to explore all the new flight routes of a well-known airline to then book the appropriate flights including rental car on the spot. Most of the accommodations we found on the spot because we drove around the area until we found something appealing to spend the night.
So we spent time in a variety of places in France, Spain, Greece, Italy and Cuba. We found many places we liked, but we couldn’t really decide where we would spend the winter.
